Goose Break (click here)

Goose Break is a very important time of year in James Bay. Families get together to go hunting for geese. They go to the bush to roast them over an open fire, and have feasts with family and friends. People look forward to the spring break because the winter is long here and there aren't many animals to hunt. Nevertheless, there were a lot of caribou seen crossing the highway this year. People use up their frozen moose meat as well in winter. I like going under the teepee because when its cold outside it feels good to warm up, and sit on the soft coniferous branches and chill. I like living in the north..just like the geese I feel free. I can fly away (on a plane) if I want to, or I can stay and enjoy the adventure...
