Teaching English Language Arts as a second or third language to Cree students can be a challenge but t is also very rewarding. We're reading "The Freedom Writers Diary" in one secondary class, and "Lost in the Barrens" in another. I'm trying to incorporate art or drama games to motivate the students, choosing themes that they can relate to. Any ideas are welcome...
